TPC Flight School (ATO) opens its doors to flightsim pilots!
We are excited to announce the official launch of the TPC Flight School - a VATSIM Authorized Training Organization! TPC Flight School is an online flight training program designed to help you master your skills as a virtual pilot. The flight school is FREE to TPC members! You can find TPC Flight School at thepilotclub.org > Pilot Training > TPC Flight School.
Our qualified instructors are knowledgeable and passionate about aviation and teaching. Several are real world CFIs and airline transport pilots. You are in good hands! Our goal is to help you obtain P-ratings and to become a more knowledgeable pilot. We utilize live practice flights with instructors to ensure you are ready and prepared for your checkride!
You are welcome to enroll and attend courses on flightsim topics, such as aviation fundamentals, aircraft operation, and VATSIM ATC communication.
Overview
Once you are on the site, simply press the blue “Log In” button located at the top left. Select “VATSIM Connect”. You will then be redirected to the VATSIM SSO (Single Sign-On) where your CID will be linked. Once logged in, select the appropriate course you are training for. For now, we are starting with the PPL Course. If you already have your P1 rating and are looking to progress, stay tuned; we are developing P2-P4 courses.
Once enrolled into a course, you will see the material designed to help you pass your written exam at the end of the course. Lessons with a blue icon represent a presentation page, lessons with a green icon represent a video lesson, and lessons with a red icon represent a quiz.
Once you have completed the course and have passed your written exam, your next step is practice flights!
At the bottom of the course you will find a list of practice flights with lesson plans designed to help you understand what will be covered during your flight. When ready, you may book your flight with an instructor through PickTime. Once all flights are completed and passed, you will be assigned to an examiner to conduct your checkride.

#p-rating-role-request: If you already have a P-rating, follow the instructions in the channel description to activate a discord role.
#training-request: If you are ready to schedule a practice flight but appointments on PickTime do not match your schedule, utilize this channel for impromptu sessions.
