Come and join The Pilot Club, ZLA, ZOA, and ZSE as we embark on a rare regional based FNO.

This week we’ll follow the iconic Interstate 5 and head south from Bellingham to Eugene, so break out your CRJ or ERJ, or maybe that old Turboprop!

As we prepare for our flight from Bellingham International Airport in Bellingham, Washington, to Eugene Airport in Eugene, Oregon, we will be covering a distance of approximately 200 nautical miles.

This journey presents us with an opportunity to experience the stunning natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Upon takeoff from Bellingham, we will ascend and be greeted by breathtaking views of Bellingham Bay and the surrounding San Juan Islands.

The coastline, with its lush greenery and rugged features, will serve as a picturesque backdrop as we leave the city behind.

If the skies are clear, we may even catch a glimpse of the majestic Mount Baker to the east, standing tall in its snow-capped glory.

As we fly southward, our route will take us over the lush forests and rolling hills that characterize this part of Washington and Oregon.

We will likely encounter the beautiful Cascade Mountain Range, where we might see a patchwork of vibrant greens covering the valleys below.

The flight path will also allow us to observe the changing landscape, transitioning from coastal terrain to the more inland features of the Pacific Northwest.

As we approach Eugene, we will begin our descent, and the scenery will transform into the charming cityscape of this vibrant college town, home to the University of Oregon. The area is known for its rich artistic culture, beautiful parks, and a commitment to sustainability.

Upon landing at Eugene Airport, we will be welcomed by the friendly atmosphere of this dynamic city. Its proximity to nature and outdoor recreational opportunities makes it an appealing destination.

Whether we are looking to explore the local arts scene, enjoy the numerous parks, or savor the delicious farm-to-table cuisine, Eugene offers a wealth of experiences.

See you in the virtual skies!
